Trip highlights
The world-renowned archaeological site of Delphi
Pythia’s prophecies were considered the most reliable in ancient Greece, believed to have played a crucial role in events such as the Argonautic Expedition and the Trojan War. Today, at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Delphi, you can visit the Tholos of Athena Pronaia, the Temple of Apollo, the ancient theater, the stadium and of course, the museum. There, you will discover some of the most important masterpieces of ancient Greek art, including the Omphalos, an elliptical stone symbolizing the Delphic oracle, and the marble Sphinx of the Naxians, standing 2.32 meters tall. Will you unveil the Delphic prophecy?
The seaside village of Galaxidi
Neoclassical architecture, colorful buildings, red-tiled roofs, blooming gardens and courtyards, and vibrant bougainvilleas – all contribute to the village’s serene, authentic, and aristocratic island-like character. Enjoy a refreshing swim in its calm blue waters and taste delicious seafood right by the sea!
The Holy Monastery of Hosios Loukas
One of the most significant Byzantine monuments in Greece, dating back to the 11th century. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, founded by the ascetic Saint Loukas, includes the Church of the Virgin Mary and the Katholikon – both adorned with remarkable frescoes and mosaics. Don’t miss the crypt located beneath the church!
Panta Vrechei Gorge
The most famous and awe-inspiring spot in all of Evrytania: Panta Vrechei Gorge, which literally means “Always Raining” in Greek. Waterfalls cascade down from Mount Kaliakouda, forming a magical curtain of water that feels straight out of a fairytale! The gorge is accessible only during the summer months and requires a 45-minute hike (river trekking) to reach the waterfalls. Get ready for a guided off-road adventure with 4X4 vehicles – an epic drive to the most epic gorge in Greece.
The renovated Archaeological Museum of Thebes
One of the most important museums in Greece, housing rare and unique artifacts, including the famous cylinder seals discovered in the “Treasure Room” of the Mycenaean Palace of Thebes, and the painted clay larnakes from Tanagra. the only ones of their kind ever found in mainland Greece. Thebes was the backdrop for some of the most iconic Greek myths, including those of Oedipus, Antigone, and the Seven Against Thebes. Spanning from the Paleolithic to the Post-Byzantine period, the museum’s exhibits will immerse you in millennia of history and mythology!
The mountain town of Arachova
One of the top winter destinations in Greece, thanks to its unique architecture, cosmopolitan atmosphere, wide variety of cafés, restaurants and shops, and -of course- its proximity to the largest ski center in Greece on Mount Parnassus. Ready to explore the “Mykonos of Winter”?
*Don’t leave without trying Formaela, the famous PDO grilling cheese made from sheep’s and goat’s milk – a true local delicacy!
The Holy Monastery of Prousos
Built into a steep and rocky landscape covered with fir trees, this monastery is nestled between the mountains of Chelidona, Kaliakouda, and the Panaitoliko range. It takes its name from the miraculous icon of the Panagia Prousiotissa, and the chapel features uninscribed frescoes dating back to the 12th or 13th century. From the Monastery you can also take a trail to the Black Cave – a landmark of the area surrounded by lush nature and beautiful waterfalls.
Lake Kremasta
The largest artificial lake in Greece, the cleanest lake in Europe, and the fifth cleanest in the world! Its turquoise waters and fjord-like formations will captivate you, while the lake offers a wide range of activities — from swimming and kayaking to scenic boat tours.
