GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN A PACKAGE TRAVEL (Individually arranged/Tailor-made)

Based on Presidential Decree 7/2018, pursuant to EU Directive 2015/2302

Please read carefully the following General Terms & Conditions for Participation, which form an integral part of the package travel contract, along with the information and any other suggestions and recommendations provided to you before making any package travel booking. Participation in any organized, self-guided trip offered by our agency requires a thorough review of the outline of the specific trip and implies the traveller’s unconditional acceptance of the General Terms & Conditions for Participation, in accordance with Presidential Decree 7/2018.

Please note that the General Terms & Conditions for Participation include general information, as well as the rights and obligations of both parties involved in the package travel. Regarding specific and special information (destinations, prices, duration of the trip, departure and return dates, means of transport, accommodation, visits, etc.) that relate to each package travel individually, you should consult the applicable trip outline and the relevant price list. The trips are valid for the period specified in the relevant brochures or on our website (where any changes, amendments and information about the trips, which are binding on all travellers, are also indicated), and in conjunction with the current price list, as reasonably amended from time to time and posted on our website.

1. Organizer – Travel Agency

The company under the name “DIMITRIOU MELINA” and the distinctive title “WANDERLIFE GREECE TRAVEL (E-SERVICE)” located at 23 Praxitelous Street, Gerakas, Attica, Greece, with VAT No. 143545734, Tax Office KEFODE ATTIKIS, General Commercial Registry (GEMI) No. 182682903000, Greek Registry of Tourism Enterprises (MHTE) No. 0208Ε70000087100, phone number +30 6936005253, and email contact@wanderlifegreece.com  (hereinafter referred to as the Travel Agency) organizes individually arranged package tours to Greece that are not accompanied by guides or representatives of the Travel Agency. These tours are carried out by the travellers themselves, who use either a privately owned or rented vehicle, which they drive themselves, based on the detailed trip outline and itinerary prepared by our office, taking into account the customized needs and preferences of each traveller.

It is expressly stated that the Travel Agency does not undertake and is not responsible for the transportation of travellers to and from Greece, nor does it bear any responsibility for any delays in flights to and from Greece that may affect the program or itinerary of the trip. In the event of significant flight delays, the Travel Agency will make every effort to adjust the itinerary of the trip in accordance with the new circumstances. The Travel Agency’s services commence upon the traveller’s arrival in Greece and are completed on the final day of the package travel in Greece, as per the agreed schedule.

2. General

The information, data, and recommendations contained in the General Conditions of Participation have been checked for validity and accuracy at the time of writing, are of a general nature and remain valid unless otherwise stated in the specific program of the trip in question.

The travel packages posted on the wanderlifegreece.com website are valid for the period indicated therein and in conjunction with the current price list, which also indicates any changes, modifications, and information about the trips, all of which are binding for all customers.

The final configuration of the trip, the services and the price per person are included in the customized package travel contract, which is signed and accepted by both parties (the Travel Agency and the client).

We note that any special wishes, needs or requirements of the client regarding their trip, should be explicitly included in the contract, provided they have been agreed upon and are feasible.

The information and data in the programs are subject to change due to frequent and extraordinary changes in global conditions, as well as unusual weather conditions. In such cases, you will be informed immediately by the most appropriate means, using the contact details you have provided, for the accuracy of which you are solely responsible.

3. Contract for participation in a package travel

Participation in a package travel requires the signing of a contract between the Travel Agency and the client. This contract also covers any family members or group participants whom the client represents and supports financially. The client is obliged to receive a copy of this contract. These General Conditions for Participation form an integral part of this contract.

4. Expression of interest – Registration – Reservations – Prepayments

You may register for one of our tours if you are over 18 years old or accompanied by an adult (if the accompanying adult is not one of the parents, you must present relevant letters from the parents stating that the minor is travelling with parental consent).

To register for one of our tours the following procedure is followed:

Α. Filling in the Booking Inquiry Form posted on the Travel Agency’s website.

It is expressly stated that filling in the Booking Inquiry Form posted on the website does not constitute a reservation. It is noted that travellers may express interest in any of the destinations listed on the website up to 75 days before the desired departure date of the trip, so that the Travel Agency has the necessary time for proper planning and preparation of the trip.

Each trip is fully personalized and planned according to the dates selected by each traveller. If, at the time of the expression of interest by the traveller, there is no availability with our partner accommodation providers, vehicle rental companies, or activity providers for the selected travel dates, the Travel Agency will attempt to find alternative partners. If this is not possible, the Travel Agency must either not accept the traveller’s request or work with the traveller to explore new travel dates or alternative destinations from those listed on the wanderlifegreece website.

B. The Travel Agency, upon receiving the expression of interest, will check availability with partner accommodation providers, car rental companies etc., and after considering all relevant factors, will proceed to craft the personalized tour selected by the traveller based on their individual needs and preferences. The Travel Agency will then inform the traveller of the final price of the package travel and the general overview of the tour.

C. If the traveller agrees with the final offer and the tour overview provided by the Travel Agency, they must, within seven (7) calendar days of receiving the final offer, proceed to the payment of a deposit equal to 30% of the total price of the package travel for each person participating in the trip, and sign the package travel contract. After the seven-day period, the Travel Agency cannot guarantee availability with partner accommodations, car rental companies etc. or the price stated in the offer.

The advance payment must be made in euros, either by deposit to the Travel Agency’s Alpha Bank account (notified to the traveller), by bank transfer, via IRIS BUSINESS, or via POS in case the contracted traveller is located in Greece. The advance payment automatically implies that the depositor is fully informed of the essential details of the trip (dates, destinations, number of nights per location, activities and attractions included in the program, estimated number of total kilometers to be covered).
For the booking request to be valid, the receipt for the advance payment must clearly indicate the specific trip, booking code, specific travel dates, or any other identifying details.

The package travel contract signed by the traveller and the Travel Agency, implies the unconditional acceptance by the traveller and those represented by him/her, of the terms of the contract and the General Terms and Conditions of Participation. A copy of the contract will be sent electronically to the traveller. The package travel contract covers the traveller and the persons they represent and support financially, whose details are set out in the contract.

The contracting traveller, who represents family members or a group, is responsible for informing all represented persons of the details and conditions of the trip and must provide the Travel Agency with all necessary personal data on their behalf.
Participants registered by a third party have the same obligations as the representative who registered them on the trip, and the Travel Agency will provide them with any relevant information upon request.

Once the deposit is paid and the contract is concluded, the Travel Agency proceeds with the detailed planning of the personalized itinerary selected by the traveller, based on their needs and preferences.

D. Payment of the total agreed value of the package travel for all participants in the trip.

Participation in the trip is secured upon full payment of the total agreed price of the package travel, including any applicable charges, for all participants. The total amount must be paid no later than 45 days prior to the scheduled departure date.

Failure to pay the full amount of the package travel within the time stipulated above entitles the Travel Agency to cancel the reservation and, if applicable, to claim cancellation fees in accordance with the cancellation terms provided herein.

Following full payment of the total price of the package travel, and no later than 20 days prior to the scheduled start date of the trip, the Travel Agency shall provide the traveller with the detailed program and itinerary in electronic form (PDF file). The itinerary will also include some key information about the sights, villages, beaches, areas and landscapes that the travellers will encounter during their trip, to help them get to know the chosen destination better.

It is noted that the detailed program / itinerary received by each traveller in a PDF file is considered confidential information, which is available exclusively to customers of the Travel Agency and is its intellectual property. Its publication or disclosure to third parties, which are not included between the traveller and his/her represented travelling companions, is strictly prohibited.

It is also noted that in the context of expressing interest and/or registration for package travel, the Travel Agency processes Personal Data (P.P.C.) that each traveller provides, and which it retains for a reasonable period of time, in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as detailed in the Personal Data Protection Policy posted on the website wanderlifegreece.com.

5. Travel prices – Surcharges

Please note that as each trip is unique and personalized to the needs of each traveller and the dates that suit them, the prices per person listed on the Travel Agency’s website are indicative and have been calculated for a trip for 2 persons with a basic/economic category car and hotel accommodation of up to 3 stars, during middle season (e.g. May, October, November), based on the cost of services for each trip, applicable taxes, and any other factors on the date mentioned on the website. Especially during holiday periods (e.g. Christmas and Orthodox Easter) or public holidays (e.g. Clean Monday, May 1, 28th October, 25th March), as well as during the summer months June-September (high season), especially in coastal destinations, prices for accommodation and car rental bookings can increase significantly. Conversely, in the winter months January to March (low season), prices are significantly lower than in the middle and high season.

The specific price of each package travel per person, including the number of nights in the type of accommodation chosen by the traveller, the category of car chosen by the traveller and the attractions or activities included in the package, will be given to the traveller after they fill in the Booking Inquiry form posted on the website wanderlifegreece.com and provide the Travel Agency with all the necessary information listed therein, and in any case before signing the package travel contract.

In particular, after completing the Booking Inquiry form, the Travel Agency will inform the interested traveller about the total price of the package travel (depending on the type of accommodation and vehicle category chosen, as well as the outdoor and cultural activities included in the package price), but also for suggestions for optional outdoor and cultural activities not included in the package price, as well as for their respective cost. The Travel Agency will also provide the traveller with an estimate of the total kilometers for completing the full trip, as well as an estimate of the cost of tolls or other means of transport included in the trip (for example ferries/trains), based on the fare and toll rates applicable at the time the offer is sent to the traveller. The cost of fuel and tolls throughout the journey cannot de facto be included in a package of self-guided/self-drive trips.

The Travel Agency, having exhausted all possibilities of forecasting, reserves the right to adjust prices when the cost factors of the trip change. In particular, the price of the trip may change up to 20 days before the start of the travel services. This price increase will be communicated to the traveller, calculated in detail in a clear, comprehensible and legible manner.

In the event of a price increase of more than 8% of the value of the trip, the traveller may terminate the contract without paying a termination fee and receive a refund of the exact amount paid. If the traveller terminates the package travel contract for the above reason, they may accept another package of equal value. If the alternative trip offered is of lower value, the difference will be refunded. The traveller is obliged to notify the Travel Agency in writing of any decision within a reasonable period of time, and in any case no more than 3 days from the date of notification of the price increase. In the event that the traveller does not respond in writing within the above time limit, the Travel Agency is obliged to cancel their participation and refund the amount paid without any further obligation, considering any applicable cancellation fees as outlined in Article 6.

Please note that special charges may apply for infants up to 24 months and children from 2 years old up to 10 years old, especially if the child is sharing a room with adults. The traveller must specify the age of the child or children travelling on the trip and whether they wish to share a room with the child/children in order to receive the relevant rate for the minor members.

Usually the price of the package travel does not include accommodation taxes, local taxes, climate crisis-related charges and/or similar charges, which the traveller is obliged to pay directly to the accommodation.

The price of the travel package also does not include entrance tickets to specific attractions, which cannot be booked online or pre-booked, so in these cases payment must be made directly by the traveller. However, the Travel Agency will inform the traveller in advance of the cost of the full ticket per person, as well as the opening hours. Also, the price of the travel package does not include the cost of any activities that the traveller may choose to undertake outside of the travel package, which will be paid directly by the traveller to the respective activity providers.

The Travel Agency has the right, for a certain period of time or for a limited number of travellers, to announce travel packages at more favorable prices, with special cancellation conditions, in the context of promotional offers.

6. Cancellations

It is expressly emphasized that part of the deposit, i.e. 20% of the package travel value per person is non-refundable to the traveller, regardless of when the trip is cancelled, as it constitutes administrative costs for the planning of the personalized package. The full deposit is refundable only if the trip is cancelled at the initiative or due to the responsibility of the Travel Agency for reasons that could not have been foreseen at the time the contract was concluded. In such a case, the traveller has no further claim against the Travel Agency.

Cancellations of participation by the traveller must be made through written notification to the Travel Agency via e-mail, and regardless of the booking date (and if it is not possible to assign the booking to another person under the conditions referred to in Article 15 of these terms of participation). Cancellations of participation are subject to the following cancellation fees per person, depending on the time at which the cancellation is made. The cancellation fees apply regardless of whether the corresponding amounts have already been paid by the travellers or not, and if there is no other cancellation policy by the hotel or the car rental company.

The above cancellation fees apply even if the traveller:

a) does not participate in all the events of the travel program,
b) cancels their participation in a package travel and wishes to participate in the same package travel on a future date or in a different package travel,
c) cancels the trip due to any extraordinary medical event occurring to the traveller, or to their travel companions represented by them, before departure.

In the case of pre-announced offers, as well as during holiday periods, the above-mentioned cancellation periods may be longer and the cancellation fees higher. These special conditions will be explicitly stated in the package travel contract of the specific trip.

If one of two persons who have chosen to stay in a double room cancels his/her participation, the applicable cancellation fees will be charged. If the cancellation fees are not equal to 100% of the total value of the package travel, the person who ultimately travels will have to pay the additional cost of a single room, as he/she will necessarily be accommodated alone.

Changes to rental vehicles or accommodations involving other vehicles or lodgings of the same or higher category, as well as any non-substantial changes to the program that do not significantly alter the overall character of the trip, do not constitute valid grounds for cancellation of participation.

7. Change of trip schedule by the Travel Agency

The Travel Agency shall make every effort to ensure the best and most consistent execution of package travel. Nevertheless, since it is possible that changes, beyond the Travel Agency’s control, may occur from the date of publication and posting of the relevant trip outlines on the Travel Agency’s website until the actual date of the trip, some details may not be entirely consistent at the time of travel with those in the trip outlines posted on the website (e.g. non-operation of a museum or other attraction, technical problems in hotel facilities or equipment, etc.). Unforeseen circumstances may make it necessary to modify the travel itinerary/program either before departure or during the trip.

Prior to departure, the Travel Agency reserves the right to modify the itinerary due to unforeseeable factors such as changes in hotel category due to problems in building infrastructure or errors in hotel reservations, or even due to extraordinary events occurring in Greece. Such events include, but are not limited to, weather conditions, epidemics, fires, floods, earthquakes, natural disasters, strikes, political events, war or threat of war, hijackings, terrorist acts, riots, etc. In the event of any change in the travel itinerary/program, the Travel Agency shall inform the traveller promptly, in writing and in a clear, understandable and distinct manner regarding the changes.

In such cases, the traveller has the following three alternatives:

  1. To accept the change.
  2. To choose another package travel of the same or lower price (in which case any price difference will be refunded), or a more expensive package travel (in which case the traveller will pay the price difference).
  3. To cancel the package travel and receive a full refund of the amount paid, minus administrative costs, in accordance with the cancellation clause.

The traveller must notify the Travel Agency in writing of their decision within a reasonable timeframe, but no later than three (3) days from the date of receiving notice of the proposed change.

The Travel Agency also reserves the right to cancel travel packages in cases of force majeure or any situation that may pose a risk to the life or safety of the travellers. In such a case, the Travel Agency will inform the traveller as soon as possible and refund the full amount paid, excluding administrative costs, without any further obligation for additional compensation.

If the Travel Agency cancels the package travel for reasons other than those mentioned above, it is obliged to inform the traveller immediately and to refund the full amount paid, including administrative costs, without any additional compensation.

8. Change of trip schedule by travellers:

Any change requested by the contracting travellers, such as a change in the final number of participants in the package travel, shall be considered a cancellation and will be handled in accordance with the terms noted in paragraph 6.

9. Passports, entry visas (VISA) and health formalities

For entry into Greece, travellers from Schengen Area countries are required to present a new type of identity card or a passport that is valid for at least six months after the planned return date. Travellers from all other countries must present a passport that is valid for at least six months after the planned return date. In particular, third-country nationals holding foreign passports must personally contact the consular authorities of their country to determine whether an entry visa or other documentation is required to enter Greece.

Children and minors must have their own passport or identity card.

A parent traveling alone with a minor must carry a certified authorization in English from the other parent who is not accompanying the child. In any case, the Travel Agency shall not be held responsible if the competent authorities deny their entry into Greece or if the airline refuses boarding.

It is the sole responsibility of the traveller -and not the Travel Agency- to ensure that travel documents and visas are obtained in a timely manner for entering the country. Failure to obtain such documents does not justify cancellation of participation in the trip without the application of cancellation fees.

The traveller is obligated to comply with national laws, regulations, and the instructions of the Greek authorities. The Travel Agency shall not be held liable if the traveller is subject to criminal prosecution, is summoned by an authority, is arrested by local authorities, or is prohibited from entering or exiting the country, or if any other sanction is imposed by the Greek authorities.

Travellers, particularly elderly people, people with health or mobility issues and pregnant women with health problems should obtain the consent of their doctor before travelling and inform the Travel Agency in good time by providing either a medical certificate or a solemn declaration confirming they are fit to travel. Additionally, many of the proposed outdoor activities may require participants to be in good health and physical condition. In such cases, travellers are required to provide a medical certificate or a solemn declaration that they are able to undertake the activity safely.

The Travel Agency accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any illness, injury, loss of life, accident, or other medical emergencies occurring during the trip. In the event of such an incident, the Travel Agency will make every reasonable effort to assist the affected individual but shall not be obligated to cover any related expenses or changes to the itinerary.

10. Insurance

The Travel Agency has concluded a Professional Liability Insurance Policy with Ydrogios Insurance (Policy Number: 2224085480) for each trip it organizes, covering all contracted travellers, for any liability cases against customers, arising from the non-execution or improper execution of the organized trip. In addition, the Professional Liability Insurance Policy covers the obligation to reimburse amounts paid by travellers in the event of the Travel Agency’s insolvency or bankruptcy.

In case of illness during a trip within Greece, it is recommended that travellers contact their Insurance Institution to request the issuance of the “European Health Insurance Card.”

It is at the discretion of the travellers to take out additional insurance, such as accident coverage or travel cancellation insurance, in case they need to cancel the trip due to personal reasons, such as illness, a medical procedure involving themselves or a family member, or any similar cause. If requested, the Travel Agency may facilitate direct contact between travellers and the insurance company it cooperates with, to obtain a quote or investigate additional coverage options.

11. Hotels – Accommodation

The selection of hotels and accommodation is based primarily on their location, in order to facilitate the daily itinerary of travellers and the rest of the travel program, as well as the quality of services they offer, combined with the best possible price according to their category. All information concerning the categorisation or classification of hotels and accommodation mentioned in the travel packages is in accordance with current Greek legislation. Please note that there is no uniform international classification of hotels.

Unless otherwise stated in the package travel contract, accommodation is provided in standard rooms. Most hotel rooms include either twin beds or a double bed. Triple rooms are double rooms with an extra bed. For the convenience of travellers, some hotels may accommodate a fourth bed, but it goes without saying that space will be quite limited. If you wish to have a double bed in a double room, you must indicate this when filling in the Booking Inquiry Form. The Travel Agency will make every effort to satisfy this request but cannot guarantee it. The choice of room, floor etc., is made by the hotel management, which is solely responsible for all services provided by the hotel.

Rooms are usually delivered by the hotel between 13:00 and 15:00 and are available to guests until 10:00 to 12:00 on the day of departure, depending on each hotel’s policy. The Travel Agency will inform the traveller in writing of the exact check-in and check-out times for all hotels visited during the trip. If a traveller wishes to check in earlier or depart later than the scheduled time, the Travel Agency will try to accommodate the request. If rooms are available, the traveller will pay the relevant charge on the spot at the accommodation.

It should be noted that the environmental tax on accommodation, estimated between EUR 0.50 and EUR 15 per night -depending on the category of accommodation and the tourist season- is payable by the traveller directly at the accommodation upon departure.

In case of late arrival at the hotel, after the scheduled day or time of arrival, and if the traveller has not informed both the hotel and our Travel Agency, the hotel has the right to cancel the reservation and allocate the room for the entire reservation period to another guest, if requested.

We recommend that you do not leave your personal belongings such as bags, cameras, and mobile phones unattended, and keep them under constant supervision in all areas of the accommodation, as well as when using public transport, such as boats, trains, etc.

In case of overbooking by the hotel, the Travel Agency will try to offer replacement accommodation in another hotel room of the same category. If this is not possible, the traveller will be provided with a hotel room of a lower category, and the difference will be refunded. The Travel Agency bears no further responsibility or obligation in such cases.

12. Car rental

The Travel Agency is responsible for arranging car rental on behalf of the traveller(s) for the duration of the agreed trip, and not for the entirety of their stay in Greece, unless otherwise specified in the contract between the parties. The Travel Agency shall provide the partner car rental company with the contact details of the traveller designated as the main driver, and the contact details of the second driver of the vehicle.

The vehicle rental cost includes:

As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.

A child seat may be added upon request for an additional charge.

The standard insurance  package does not cover:

Travellers who wish to include full coverage for any damage to the car’s tyres, underside or glass, or full coverage for any damage resulting in the event of theft of the car, must inform the Travel Agency at least 15 days prior to their trip and pay the additional cost within 3 days in order for the Travel Agency to upgrade the coverage accordingly.

A valid driving license is required in hard copy, issued at least one year before the rental’s starting date. Non-EU citizens must present either a license valid in both Greece and the EU, or an international driver’s license, along with their national license.

The Minimum age limit of the drivers should be 19 years and the maximum age limit is 75 years. Please note that for renting an SUV, the minimum age limit of the driver should be 23 years.

A credit card under the driver’s name is required as a guarantee at the time of car delivery. Upon arrival, the car rental company will preauthorize or charge an amount from the driver’s credit card as a deposit. This amount will be fully refunded or released at the end of the rental period, provided no additional charges have been incurred. Please note that the refund can take up to 14 business days, depending on the issuing bank of the driver’s credit card. The deposit amount varies according to the car group and will be clearly stated by the Travel Agency in the package travel contract. A credit card guarantee is required, even if payment is made in cash. Accepted cards: Visa and Mastercard (Credit or Debit).

Vehicles are insured against third parties (excluding the driver) for:

If these coverage limits change, the minimum limits defined by Greek law shall apply. Any damages not covered or exceeding insurance limits must be fully paid by the customer.

Restrictions:

If vehicle replacement is necessary:

Traffic tickets and fines resulting from violations of the Highway Code are the sole responsibility of the renter. Additionally, the renter must cover administration fees, where applicable, which may vary by location (maximum charge: €30 + VAT).

The traveller must ensure the timely pick-up and return of the rental vehicle on the agreed dates, times, and locations. Any delays for any reason during the pick-up or return of the rental vehicle, must be immediately communicated to the Travel Agency, which will inform the partner car rental company. All financial penalties due to delays in pick-up or return are the sole responsibility of the traveller. The Travel Agency will make every effort to resolve any issues caused by such delays, whether due to the traveller or the car rental company.

The traveller is also responsible for inspecting the condition of the car and noting any existing dents or wear and tear before accepting the vehicle.

13. Luggage

Baggage is transported at the sole responsibility and care of its owners. In the event of damage or loss, the applicable international regulations for each mode of transport and for hotels shall apply, and liability is limited to the provisions set forth in those regulations. The Travel Agency bears no responsibility for the contents of the luggage, nor for any damage to or loss of the luggage or its contents.

14. Obligations & Responsibilities of the Travel Agency

The Travel Agency has the obligation to coordinate and execute, in the best possible way, the tours it has undertaken to organize. Having exhausted every possibility of foresight and care, it is not responsible for the wrongful actions or omissions of third parties and their associates, nor for extraordinary circumstances such as cancellations, delays, or changes to transport itineraries (ships, buses, trains, etc.) caused by area blockades (“embargoes”) due to terrorist acts, strikes, or other force majeure events, as well as technical, meteorological, or other reasons. It also bears no responsibility for delays or changes to flight schedules booked independently by the travellers.

It is emphasised that the Travel Agency is unable to foresee or control circumstances beyond its sphere of influence which may lead to the cancellation of the trip or to damages arising from the non-performance or defective performance of the agreed services. Typical examples include strikes, accidents, illnesses, epidemics, physical conditions due to local factors, altitude, climate, meals not included in the program, or inadequate sanitary conditions caused by external factors; injuries or hardship due to war, coups, acts of terrorism, hijackings, earthquakes, weather conditions, fires, toxic contamination, and any other emergency or force majeure situation. In such cases, the Travel Agency shall not be liable for compensation for any resulting damages.

Nevertheless, it will make every effort to assist and care for the travellers in any possible way. However, this does not constitute an obligation or liability for the Travel Agency to cover the related extraordinary expenses, which, as in all cases of force majeure, must be covered by the travellers themselves.

The Travel Agency shall not be held liable in cases of theft, loss, or damage to travellers’ luggage and personal belongings, or for the loss of money and travel documents.

Reasonable complaints during the trip must be reported immediately via email to the Travel Agency. If the issue cannot be resolved on-site, the traveller must submit any relevant complaint in writing to the Travel Agency within seven (7) working days after returning from the trip, along with any available documents or evidence supporting the claim. After this 7-day period, the Travel Agency has no obligation to respond to any claim. If any damage occurs after the traveller’s departure due to the non-performance or defective performance of travel services, compensation will be limited to what is stipulated by the international conventions binding the country and governing such services.

The Travel Agency reserves the right to cancel any tour in cases of force majeure or potential danger to the travellers’ lives, as detailed in Article 7 of these Terms and Conditions.

Services not mentioned in the package travel outline or listed as optional, are either not offered by the Travel Agency or are provided by third parties. Any payments for such services must be made directly by the traveller to the respective providers, should the traveller choose to participate. The Travel Agency bears no responsibility for optional events or activities organised by local entities or businesses.

For outdoor activities conducted by local providers that are not included in the travel package, the Travel Agency will inform the traveller in advance about the cost, the equipment or experience required, the schedule of the activity, and the provider’s contact details. Payment for such activities will be made directly by the traveller to the provider, if the activity takes place.

Participation in hiking or climbing routes proposed by the Travel Agency is at the discretion of the traveller and is undertaken entirely at their own risk if done without the Travel Agency’s escort. The Travel Agency assumes no responsibility for the condition of the trails or climbing routes, or for any incidents occurring during these activities.

Regarding attractions, not all can be booked or pre-booked online. Therefore, in some cases, travellers may need to purchase tickets directly on-site. The traveller will be informed in advance by the Travel Agency of the full ticket cost per person and the opening hours. The Travel Agency is not responsible for the operational days and hours of museums and archaeological sites, nor for any changes to their opening hours.

Upon completion of the trip, the Travel Agency will issue the statutory tax documents, which will be sent electronically to the traveller.

15. Obligations & Responsibilities  of Travellers

The trips are organised by the Travel Agency but are carried out independently by the travellers without an escort or guide and often include various suggestions for activities, hiking trails, sightseeing, guided tours, etc. This means that there is considerable flexibility in the execution of the itinerary, and it is up to the traveller to decide whether to follow the itinerary closely or skip certain attractions or activities.

However, in the event that a tour or activity has already been booked on behalf of the traveller, the traveller is obliged to be present at the meeting point indicated by the Travel Agency on the agreed day and time. In case of delay or cancellation on the part of the traveller, the organiser of the event or activity must be informed directly by the traveller, without the mediation of the Travel Agency. Failure by the traveller to appear will result in the loss of the activity, without the right to a refund of the corresponding amount, if it has already been paid. If the traveller has not paid the relevant costs in advance, he/she is obliged to pay 100% of the amount to the provider.

It is also the traveller’s responsibility to arrive at the hotels/accommodations on time, based on the check-in time, and to leave on time, based on the check-out time, on the agreed overnight stay dates per accommodation. Any delay in departure is the responsibility of the traveller and not of the Travel Agency, which has informed the traveller in advance of the estimated arrival and departure times at the hotels/accommodations. Before departure from the hotel or accommodation, the traveller must settle any personal bills (e.g. telephone calls, drinks, etc.) in good time.

The traveller is responsible for providing accurate personal data during the booking process, which also forms the basis for the liability insurance policy. In the event of incorrect personal data being submitted, the Travel Agency shall not be held liable.

The traveller may not make any changes to the trip, including changes to the hotels, after the trip has begun. Interruption of the trip, for any reason -serious or otherwise- is not permitted. The Travel Agency will under no circumstances refund the amounts paid, and any costs resulting from an interruption of the trip are the sole responsibility of the traveller. In the event that the traveller interrupts his/her trip by personal decision, even for reasons of force majeure, he/she shall not be entitled to any further service or compensation from the Travel Agency, and the responsibility and all travel costs shall be borne by the traveller.

The Travel Agency is also not liable for package travel services that were not provided to the traveller due to the traveller’s own negligence or responsibility, or due to illness or sudden accident.

Each traveller is solely responsible for the validity, acquisition, and safekeeping of the travel documents required for his/her trip, as well as for the accuracy/authenticity of declarations made to Greek monetary and customs authorities.

It is advisable for the traveller to arrive at the place of departure well in advance -preferably the day before- in order to avoid the impact of any delays or strikes of transport services.

If the traveller is unable to participate in the package travel for which he/she has made a reservation, he/she may assign the reservation to another person who meets the conditions for participation in the specific trip, by notifying the Travel Agency in writing no later than 7 days before the start of the trip. The substitute (transferee) and the original participant (assignor) are jointly and severally liable to the Travel Agency for the payment of any outstanding balance, as well as for any additional costs that may arise from this assignment

It is clarified that any such change must fall strictly within the same framework and will only be accepted if all service providers involved in the package tour (hotels, car rental company -if the person is the driver- etc.) agree to the changes.

16. Settlement of disputes

The Travel Agency and the traveller undertake to resolve in good faith any dispute that may arise during the execution of the package travel contract. If the amicable resolution of the dispute is not possible, the Athens Courts shall have jurisdiction.
